Timo Werner was at Stamford Bridge on Sunday to watch his new club Chelsea attempt to seal Champions League qualification against Wolves.
The Blues acted fast to sign Werner from RB Leipzig, one of Europe’s most coveted players, for a deal worth around 47million.
Werner decided against remaining with Leipzig for the conclusion of their Champions League run, the German outfit beating Tottenham in March to reach the quarter-finals.
He officially became a Chelsea player on July 1, along with Hakim Ziyech, and Frank Lampard hopes to add Kai Havertz to his squad with the transfer window opening on Monday.
Werner posted a picture of himself on Instagram at London Biggin Hill Airport in Kent on Sunday morning, with and another Chelsea target, Kai Havertz, ‘liked’ the image.
Werner followed that up with a tweet of himself in the Stamford Bridge stands before Chelsea’s game vs Wolves, with the caption: “My new home! Come on, @ChelseaFC”.
Chelsea will hope to secure Champions League by earning at least a point against Wolves on Sunday, surely paving the way for Havertz to join over the summer.
